Event Details

TIC Auckland is pleased to present a site visit to Te Ara Ki Uta Ki Tai (Glen Innes to Tamaki Drive – Section 4) on Thursday 1 October at 1:00pm. This is Auckland Transport's final stage of the Glen Innes to Tāmaki Drive Shared Path project.

This guided site walk will provide attendees with a unique opportunity to explore the delivery of the 870m Hobson Bay Boardwalk, the final link that will complete the 7km active transport corridor connecting Glen Innes to Tāmaki Drive.

During the visit, members of the project team will share insights into the planning, design and construction of the boardwalk, including the challenges of delivering major infrastructure within a sensitive coastal environment. Discussions will cover engineering and constructability considerations, environmental management, stakeholder engagement, and the broader vision for active transport connectivity across Auckland.

Attendees will gain firsthand exposure to one of Auckland's most significant walking and cycling projects, as well as practical lessons on balancing technical, environmental and community outcomes on complex infrastructure projects.

This free, in-person event provides a valuable opportunity to hear directly from the project team, experience the site up close, and connect with peers from across the infrastructure sector.

PPE Requirements: Steel cap boots, hi-vis vest and hard hat. You must provide your own steel cap boots but spare hi-vis and hard hats can be provided if needed.
