Join TIC Auckland on Wednesday 20 August from 5:30pm at the University of Auckland, for an evening of connection and insight.

The Infrastructure Collective (TIC) Auckland invites students and industry professionals to an evening of connection and insight on Wednesday 20 August from 5:30pm, at the University of Auckland's Engineering Block. This event brings together voices from across the infrastructure sector. This will include engineering, sciences, law, urban planning, and more. Promising to be a dynamic panel discussion, with speakers from New Zealand Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, Beca, and Jacobs.

Designed to encourage meaningful engagement between students and industry, the Client–Contractor–Consultant Evening promises to be a valuable experience for anyone interested in the future of infrastructure in Aotearoa.

Presenter Details

Derek Chan - Civil Engineer, Jacobs

Derek is a Civil Engineer with hands-on experience in major infrastructure delivery. He was previously part of the Ghella Abergeldie Joint Venture team on the Central Interceptor project, one of Auckland’s largest wastewater initiatives. Now at Jacobs, Derek continues to contribute to the Central Interceptor while also supporting other complex civil projects across New Zealand.


Phoebe Moses - Carbon Navigator, Beca

Phoebe began her career as a Structural Engineer and has since transitioned into a sustainability-focused role at Beca, where she now works as a Carbon Navigator. Her work bridges technical design with environmental responsibility, helping infrastructure projects reduce their carbon footprint and align with climate goals.


Dinesh Foneska - Transport Planning Practice Lead, NZTA Waka Kotahi

Dinesh has a diverse background in consulting and now leads the Transport Planning practice at NZTA Waka Kotahi. His work focuses on supporting delivery of key capital transport projects while also uplifting capability of our Transport Planners - and by extension the industry.
