WIN Northland is pleased to present the Kainga Ora - Kauika Road Development Walkabout on Wednesday 4 June at 5:30pm, sponsored by WSP.
Kainga Ora is focussed on serving the community and leaving a sustainable social housing legacy for future generations. Their core purpose as an organisation is to make a positive difference in people’s lives by delivering quality urban developments that connect homes with jobs, transport, open spaces and the facilities that communities need. A new public housing development planned for Whangārei will deliver 95 new, modern homes on Kauika Road. The homes include three-level walk-up apartments and two storey standalone houses for individuals and whānau.
WIN Northland is pleased to partner with Kainga Ora to provide our members the opportunity to be shown around the Kauika Rd development by Jeff Murray (Regional Director, Kainga Ora: Te Tai Tokerau / Northland) and Adele Loveridge (Director, Loveridge Builders).
PPE requirements: Hard Hat, Hi-vis and steel-capped boots. On arrival everyone will be taken through a Health & Safety Induction.
Jeff Murray is the Kāinga Ora Regional Director for Te Taitokerau. He has been in the role since January 2021. Prior to this he was an independent contractor working mainly for local and central government in areas of land use and infrastructure planning / strategy and leading work between iwi and local government. He has previously held roles as Manager Transport Strategy and Manager Urban Design and Development. Jeff has a Masters Degree in Planning, Growth and Regeneration from the Department of Land Economy, Cambridge University, UK (completed 2011) and a Masters Degree in Resource Management (Environmental Policy) from Lincoln University, New Zealand (completed 1992).
Adele Lovebridge - Director, Lovebridge Builders
Ask anyone at Loveridge what Adele does and the answer will be “everything!” Her official job is to take care of the legal, accounting and financial side of the business as well as being the main client contact on private contract and house-and-land projects. In reality she’s the glue that holds everything together. If an apprentice steps up to take on a full project, it will be Adelle in his ear urging him on. When the builders rock onto a site, Adeles already set up the job. She wears plenty of (hard) hats in her job from Health and Safety officer, Head of Marketing, Client Liaison and more. But the most important hat she wears is being a mother to her youngest apprentices, her kids 9 and 11 years old, along with her extended family which is pretty much everyone she knows.
