The Infrastructure Collective and the Women's Infrastructure Network Wellington are excited to invite you to join us for the WIN and TIC Wellington: Site Visit at The Living Pā

The Living Pā redevelopment for Victoria University of Wellington proposes a new three-storey innovation hub at Te Herenga Waka Marae. As an extension of the marae, and joining the wharenui, Te Tumu Herenga Waka – the Living Pā will be living lab for Māori studies.

This will be Aotearoa’s most sustainable educational facility, intended to push our understanding of green buildings and to transform how we think about buildings in the future.  The Living Pā structure is designed to be fully self-resilient from decentralised infrastructure.  Rainwater harvesting provides all water required on-site, all grey & black water is processed on site via the Membrane Bioreactor water treatment system and all power will be solar generated.

The Living Pā redevelopment proposes to meet the Living Building Challenge (LBC) Program, and will provide us with many lessons that we can apply to all of our projects as we work towards a low carbon future.

TIC and WIN jointly invite you to attend a site visit hosted by LT McGuiness (lead contractor) to see the Living Pā up close and personal and hear about the design and construction process undertaken.

Please ensure you bring to site the following mandatory PPE: steel cap boots, hi-vis vest/jacket, hard hat (ideally with chin strip).
