WIN Auckland presents 'Demystifying the Environment Court, with Judge Dickey (Environment Court), Vanessa Evitt (Buddle Findlay) and Sharon Dines (Dines Consulting Ltd) to provide you with an informal, interactive discussion on how the Environment Court works. 

This presentation will provide you with a better understand on the Environment Court processes, what makes a helpful Court presentation and will provide with you some helpful trips and tricks to help demystify the Environment Court 

This event is designed for all levels of experience and expertise.

Presenter Details

Judge Melinda Dickey, Environment Court

Admitted as a barrister and solicitor in March 1983, Judge Dickey was a partner at Brookfields Lawyers from 1996 and was a member of the firm’s Board.

In practice (until her appointment) Judge Dickey specialised in all aspects of resource management and environmental law, including extensive experience in advising on infrastructure projects and planning instruments for a number of local authorities.

Vanessa Evitt, Partner - Buddle Findlay 

Vanessa specialises in resource management, environmental and local government law. She has acted for a broad range of local authority, infrastructure and private clients on consenting and plan change processes and regularly represents clients at council hearings and before the Environment Court and High Court on resource consent and plan appeals. In addition to litigation and advisory work, Vanessa also has extensive experience advising clients on the environmental and planning aspects of property, banking and commercial transactions.

Sharon Dines, Planner – Dines Consulting Ltd 

Sharon has over twenty years of experience in environmental and resource management planning in both the corporate and consulting fields across New Zealand. 

Sharon is adept at developing strong relationships with colleagues, clients, local authority staff and stakeholders on the projects she works on. This combined with her superior skills in both planning and communication leads to the early identification and resolution of planning and environmental issues, resulting in smoother projects for her clients. She enjoys collaborating with clients to develop innovative solutions that exceed expectations and provide positive environmental outcomes.
