Join WIN Auckland Thursday 18 June 2026 at Beca for an engaging and insightful panel discussion exploring leadership journeys and the evolving future of careers in the infrastructure sector. A light breakfast will be provided.

Facilitated by Jamie Pye, this session will bring together Sarah Lang and Karina Kaufusi to share perspectives as leaders in the industry at different stages of their careers. Together, they will reflect on the experiences that have shaped their journeys, the role of leadership and support in the sector, and how infrastructure careers are evolving in response to future challenges and opportunities.

Presenter Details

Jamie Pye, Associate, RCP – Facilitator

Jamie’s commitment to improving industry diversity is reflected in her involvement with South Pacific Engineering Excellence, a network for Māori and Pasifika engineers (SPPEEx) as a committee member and past leader as well as her involvement with the Engineering New Zealand Foundation. Through this work, Jamie actively champions and supports current and future Māori and Pasifika engineers, contributing to meaningful increases in industry diversity.


Karina Kaufusi, Structural Engineer, Beca – Panel. 

Karina is the Chair of Beca’s Pasifika Network, championing inclusion, cultural connection and the growth and visibility of Pasifika talent across the business. She was honoured with the Next Generation Leader Award at Building Nations 2025, is a dedicated advocate for Pasifika representation in the industry. She leads with the Tongan value of Tauhi Vā, placing strong emphasis on building and nurturing relationships. 


Sarah Lang, Business Director – Government Advisory and Strategic Relationships at Beca – Panel

Since establishing the Women’s Infrastructure Network (WIN) at Building Nations 2016, Sarah has played a pivotal role in shaping a more inclusive infrastructure sector. As WIN celebrates its 10-year milestone, we acknowledge her enduring leadership and commitment to advancing diversity. A long-time advocate for inclusion, Sarah currently serves as Chair of the Diversity Agenda, a cross-sector initiative focused on lifting diversity, equity and inclusion across New Zealand’s engineering, consulting and architecture sectors.
