Fouad El Chikhani, Founder and Managing Director of FC International (FCI) will speak to members about the benefits of digital construction and share his recent experiences implementing technology on construction projects. He has planned an interactive session using augmented reality for everyone to experience.
The use of technology in NZ often requires specialist consultant help to properly identify appropriate technological elements for the project and to get the best tangible value out of that technology. This is something that FCI specialise in.
FCI uses 4D planning and BIM in the early stages of a project to test the feasibility and constructability of the project before costs and revenues are committed. It also uses this technology throughout the project to plan ahead and if required provide clients with a number of pro-active solutions to avoid delays and/or disputes.
Spaces are limited to 20, with no more than two per organisation. Registration is based on a first come first served basis. The event will run from 4-5pm with an opportunity for networking afterwards.
Fouad El Chikhani is the Founder and Managing Director of FC International (FCI). He has more than 22 years’ experience in the construction industry in New Zealand and the USA. Fouad and the team at FCI provide technical and management expertise to all projects they are engaged with and help clients resolve complex and sometimes significant programming, delay, and project management issues.
In addition to his qualifications as an architect, Fouad started his career as a construction site manager which secured him invaluable hands-on and practical skills and knowledge to communicate, deal and resolve a wide range of issues from design to constructability and time lines. He is often engaged to provide expert advice in relation to programming disputes.
Fouad has worked with people and companies from many sectors that make up the construction industry including general contractors, Design/Build contractors, developers and government departments. As a result, Fouad has gained the capability to understand the challenges that each party can face on a project and is very passionate about using technology to find solutions to minimise and eliminate challenges that arise.
Fouad believes digital construction can minimise and eliminate a substantial amount of issues that the current industry is facing. FCI is pro-actively investing in researching and implementing digital construction such as 4D/5D Planning, BIM, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, automated site records and productivity capturing and programme updates.
