Infrastructure New Zealand, in partnership with RCP are pleased to present 'Lessons from the Successful Rebuild of SH25a Taparahi Bridge' in Tauranga on Thursday 22 February. 

New Zealand Transport Agency Waka Kotahi and partners from across the infrastructure industry worked supremely well together to deliver a solution much faster than normal to replace Taparahi Bridge on State Highway 25A in the Coromandel.  

Infrastructure New Zealand in partnership with RCP have produced a report highlighting key lessons from the slip remediation project to inform the new Government’s approach to improving New Zealand’s planning, consenting and procurement systems.

We will be running two events, in Tauranga and Auckland, that will include a panel discussion reflecting on the report’s key insights to inform the way forward for our infrastructure delivery system.

Fraser Robertson - Director, RCP

Fraser Robertson has spent more than two decades transforming landscapes in Aotearoa. His expertise encompasses complex public and private projects in the UK, Asia, and New Zealand.

As a long-standing member of Infrastructure New Zealand with deep knowledge of the infrastructure investment cycle, Fraser’s work exemplifies the organisation’s mission. He has long advocated for bipartisan long-term investment, aiming to decouple politics from decision-making and prioritise smart investment and efficient delivery.

In his role as RCP Infrastructure Director, Fraser applies his strategic and technical experience to shape delivery frameworks and create long-term solutions for clients. He is passionate about shifting the industry towards truly sustainable development – balancing economic, social and environmental outcomes.

Fraser is a well-respected sector contributor with experience and relationships that span the country and the full spectrum of stakeholders including local and central government, NGOs, private developers and contractors.

Chris Bauld - Principal Consultant, Tonkin + Taylor

Chris is a Principal Consultant at Tonkin + Taylor in Auckland, specialising in project leadership and geotechnical engineering.

He has 33 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering, project leadership and infrastructure construction. During this time Chris has been involved in some of New Zealand’s most notable infrastructure projects. These include the Ara Tūhono – Pūhoi to Warkworth, Waterview Connection tunnels, the underground Britomart Rail Station and the Canterbury Earthquake recovery effort.
