WIN Auckland are pleased to present Networking: The Part They Never Teach Us on Thursday 13 August from 5:30pm, sponsored by KPMG and Tonkin + Taylor.
Most of us were never taught how to network. We were just... expected to be good at it.
Nat and Kristen from Powrsuit are joining the Women's Infrastructure Network for an after-work evening that gets straight to what actually works - for women. Because it turns out, the way networking was designed? Built by men, for men, over centuries of golf courses and after-work drinks. We were never really part of the blueprint.
The good news is that women are actually wired for this. We connect quickly, ask good questions, and genuinely want to help. We just haven't always been shown how to channel that strategically.
Whether you're an introvert, a reluctant networker, or someone who's just never quite cracked how to make these events pay off, this one is worth showing up for.
We'll cover how to make a specific ask that gets better results, how to turn small talk into something meaningful, and why your internal network is probably your most underused asset.
Then you'll have time to actually try it - with a room full of women who are up for doing the same.
